Local Law Enforcement
Approximately fifty cars have been marked with what appears to be human bodily fluid in the Germany's municipality of Hanau close to Frankfurt, as reported by authorities.
Cars, exterior walls and postboxes were marked, sometimes with prohibited symbols, they stated in a release.
Law enforcement report they were notified late on Wednesday, when a individual discovered that a vehicle in the Lamboy area of Hanau had been smeared with a reddish fluid.
The liquid had been drawn in the pattern of a Nazi symbol, they added.
Police then discovered many other smeared automobiles and residential walls in the surrounding area.
Nazi symbols are banned in Germany under laws outlawing the visible presentation of Nazi symbols.
Law enforcement report initial examinations indicate the liquid was most likely human blood.
"At present there remains no indication as to where it came from; authorities are currently not cognizant of any harm in relation with the event," they stated.
Municipal representatives stated they were working "to solve the mystery" and have asked to the community for information.
A senior representative stated the incident left him speechless and required to be resolved quickly.
"This act affects the core of Hanau and revives the trauma of the right-wing violent incident half a decade ago," he posted on online, recalling the death of nine victims by a gunman targeting individuals of foreign heritage in 2020.
