A Pair of Arrests Following Heathrow Irritant Spray Attack

Placeholder Heathrow Airport scene
This incident resulted in the temporary closure of the CTA tunnel and the T3 parking area.

An additional two individuals have been arrested related to a theft at London's Heathrow Airport in which 21 people were injured by a substance believed to be pepper spray, as stated by law enforcement.

A 24-year-old man, was taken into custody in the Lambeth area for suspected robbery and assault and a 23-year-old woman was detained for suspected conspiracy to commit robbery. They both remain in custody, the force said.

These detentions follow an investigation into an attack at the multi-level parking garage at Terminal 3 this past Sunday. Prior to the incident, a pair of female travelers were robbed of their suitcases upon exiting a parking garage elevator.

A three-year-old girl was among the injured in the event. A total of five individuals were taken to the hospital for treatment and have since been discharged.

Police detained a man in his thirties on suspicion of robbery and assault close to the location. He was subsequently released pending further inquiries while inquiries continue.

Police were called at about 8:10 in the morning GMT following reports of a number of individuals hurt by an irritating chemical thought to be an irritant spray.

The assault - which police said was isolated and not considered an act of terror - caused delays to rail services and the partial closure of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the T3 parking facility briefly.
